So a late update as I have been doing a little work in the background. So first things first, I released the game on Friday on Pico-8 (you can see it here) my own version sitting on the arcade is here.

I might not have got to do everything I wanted to do, but I felt that it was about time to release it. This is because I could have spent another couple of weeks working on it adding in more bits and bobs but what was the point seeing as this was supposed to be a quick project to learn some Pico-8. That said I got some good feedback on the Pico-8 forum and in general people were positive about it and enjoyed it. A few said they would like to see it extended into a fuller game. That might happen one day but as it stand, this is as far as it is going, or so I thought.

So some of the feedback I got talked about the sfx and issues I was aware about, so I went back in the day after release and re-worked how I did the sfx and also spotted an error in my code that I fixed. Also because it was a horrible day (so much rain) and it was still lockdown I did a little extra work on the game for a couple of hours and put in place 2 ideas I had for it.

So now once you get above the 70 bomb count score then it starts to rain, if you get passed 100 then day stats to turn to night. I also tweaked the difficulty to make it a bit easier to get to 100. I may revisit again and tweak further but as it stands this is v1.1 and possibly the last update to this game.

What next?

I did have the plan to move onto the the other maze game I had planned making in flash years ago, before something much bigger. But I came up with an idea that I want to ply around with first to see if that can become a game or not. We shall see.
