Yaye.. no wait what!?!

So yes the site finally got a fully working presence but not long after I posted the project update and felt good did I notice a few thing's were wrong and not showing as they should be.I knew there was going to be a few things like this but to find them so quickly really annoyed me as it was due to a few silly omissions I had made on some stored procedures after being so careful with the others. Needless to say it was a fairly easy fix but i had o fix about 4 different procedures and re-test them to make sure they were working as they should be when they should have been right in the first place. I also tidied up and fixed a possible issue (although it had never been one) with the urls for the people tagged to the films after my addition of storing links as well as their names.

I also put together a few more pages for searching films, we now have a classics search page and a search by year made, which just shows all the years with films tagged to it then selecting that year drills down to the specific year with all the films.

My idea for the search page is to make images to click on to link to these searches rather than it just being text as it is just now. Then once we have this, break them all up into groups and headings for searches. I am also contemplating a top and lowest rating set of pages. For example we could have the top10 highest rated films in the DB or the top 10-5 rated films for each genre. As well as the lowest rated ones as well as I think it could give a good and easy look into the best and worst films Ive rated. The only Issue with this is that it woudl be based on the rating held in the DB and all of the films are tagged with at least 2 genres so a 5 star film woudl show up high in both of those genres. This would mean that those genre top 10's could become very similar very quickly.

The alternative and the one I am leaning more towards is a top 10 films and a top 10 of the lowest rated films. Another issue with this is say you have 20 films rated at 5 stars, how do you decern which one's deserve to be in the top 10 and which ones don't based on the info in the DB. The only Way I can think about doing this is by bringing in the tags for re watch ability (the higher that rating the better the film) and the tags for classic movies. The issue with that is that not all classic films I have tagged are very highly rated, I tag films I think of as classics but that doesn't mean they are really highly rated films but usually means they are 4 or more stars. Also re watch ability doesn't always lend itself to a film being good or bad. As there are films that are brilliant and could be classics but they are not the type of films you could watch over and over, perhaps only watch them once every couple of years which would mean they have a lower re watch ability, but that doesn't mean they are any lesser of a film. I think this is going to be one of those things I may try to put into practice and have to keep tweaking to see if i can get it working how I want then end up giving up on it.

The other one I want to do is being able to sort films via ratings, so splitting up films based on their star rating. So only display all 5 star films, all 4 and a half etc etc that way people can see them all together in once place.
