It's about time

I have added some new features recently all to the back end admin for the website. That got me thinking that whilst this is all very practical and great that it can allow me to edit, update and add content, lists and such to the site it was never supposed to be premanent.

Of course I woudl need an admin section but the one I have was only built as I was going along and does not have really any security on it. So anyone who knew the link has direct access to it and all of it's functionality. I know I know this is so so bad and I had planned to add some security in, I even had some test bits of code all ready to be placed into it all but you know what. I decided to re-build the whole thing from the ground up.

Obviously I am not going to be throwing away any of the code thats there, so I created a new folder/area built and tested a plain log in form along with the security check needed for all the admin pages and well put together a very plain layout, plugged in bootstrap and away I went.

The idea is to jazz it up a bit in the looks deparnt ment by using bootstraps styles for forms and tables. Then pull out all the old functionining code and rename all the files as I build in the functionality of the new admin. At the moment once in the admin, I have the index page displaying all the info it should be like the origional and styled up. I have done all the functionality for adding a new film, editing it, adding/removing genre and lists as well as setting the quote, if it's a classic and a few other bits. I just need to fix the last part which allows me to tag the film as part of a franchise or series of films and set which is the first.

Once I have done that I will get the list admin done and finally the admin for tagging people. This is all the first phase of the admin and is all page to page php driven, my aim is to overlay on all of this a jquery version that clicking on something means you can edit on the fly, if that is possible.
