Art Gallery

With Christine’s first website, she had looked around at other friends and artists sites and wanted something that was her own and would stand out. At the time for the designs that were put together she wet for the darker looking site which used some bright yellows to highlight content and headings. Extra design aspect of the site were removed as she felt that people may feel those design parts may be viewed as her own work when it wasn’t it would be mine.

Originally she asked for just a refresh of the website design and all the help I was given was fresh and white. Around this time she was in talks with an advisor and decided that the current site had a little to much content. This lead to a re think of the current sites structure and moreover what was essential for the site itself.

This action moved this project from a quick site refresh to a complete site re-design and build. This meant undertaking a whole new approach that we had originally thought about so a list was composed of all the elements that had to be present in the new site. This included new and old information and showed us that a new navigation structure was needed. Around this time we also looked into the need of such a large gallery based system on the new site. Previously the gallery section had been growing monthly with images of each of her work projects.

It was decided that a gallery was necessary but not on the scale that previously was in place. It would be more a collection of images to showcase the best of her work whilst effectively delivering a visual reference of how varied all her work based class’s/workshops can be.

With this in mind I set about working on a new design for the site, whilst Christine re-evaluated the content on her site.
