Early Bulls eye
With not much to go on as a starting point for the design apart from fresh and white, I struggled to put together coherent ideas that I felt would work well for the site. After checking around other artists/architect websites I pieced together 2 or 3 designs all of which I didn’t like but could be used as a starting point if Christine liked them enough.
Thankfully she did, although no one design stood out enough for her. So I took elements from all three, which she liked and pieced them together to form a design. During all of this I came up with an idea for another design, but felt it was far to simple and as such she would reject it. I left this idea on the drawing board and went ahead with the amalgamation design, which she liked. There were still tweaks to be made before it was the final design but we were at last getting somewhere. This was when Christine explained to me she had an exhibition on at the end of that month and wanted her new design website live for then. This didn’t seem like to much of an issue what with the design almost being finished but we had ran into an issue.
Christine wanted to re-write all the content for the site and what with the new sections and changes all round it would take a bit more time to put this all together, especially when the content wasn’t quick at arriving as she was still working on finishing everything for her exhibition.
As I waited for the content to arrive which should be in enough time before the exhibition, I played with my other design I had originally dismissed for being to plain. After an hour and some font changes I had something I liked, much more than the design that we looked like we would be going with.
