Design is started
So I played about a bit in Photoshop and got a header created for the site which is looking pretty good, not exactly how I originally wanted it to look but good enough seeing as its a little sub domain project. This has brought with it a few more issues with the layout but I think I have those sorted and just need to work out some other little bits and all should be good for that then I can start to build the template.
As for how to implement the template, i am thinking this time that I will just put it all into the one page and then strip out all of the code into includes. This is a half way compromise but I think with the new OJF site i will pull everything out into includes so as to save the hassle and making the pages really busy.
I also got a bit more coding done and sorted out yet another issue with the url rewriting and it all works properly now, before it half worked but when i implemented multiple parts it woudl go a bit haywire. So now all the urls are working and variables are coming through properly (I say now but i bet I will have to fix more things and make more changes very soon).
I also started working on the pagination and wrote a few simple functions, it all seems to be working ok although ive not amended my sql to take into consideration the pagination yet. But It works out how many pages are needed for each section, then builds up a list of page numbers that can be dropped onto the page ready for styling (need to fix it so it can work out the current page as well and style as active).
All small things so far but building up to a much bigger bit of work when put together. Will hopefully get a little time tomorrow night to sort out the SQL and active page parts and any other issues that may crop up.
