One year, a picture each day

So on Facebook at the beginning of the month (January 2014) I saw many friends all posting pictures tagged with x amount (think it was 100) days of happiness. This got me thinking mostly about how many of them would start struggling to post a picture for that long each day of something that made them happy and also why is it only x amount of days. why not a full years worth of pictures? I concluded that this would probably be too much for most people to keep doing. Whilst thinking about this I came up with my own idea, how about having a page on my webserver that I could display images that I have uploaded, but I want to upload an image every day. Whilst that doesn't sound too difficult I wanted to be able to do all of this without the use of databases and I also wanted to make a thumbnail of the image that is uploaded. The project will have two sides to it, the front facing page which displays all the uploaded images and the page that allows you to upload an image.
